Pretty Cool

Those Hammering chords get a bit annoying, and the piano is a bit in your face, but overall this is quite a nice piece ^^ Although pretty repetitive I enjoyed it.

ArisingFlame responds:

Thank you! The reason for the repetition is because I have lyrics in it. Just not recorded yet. And I was enough of a space cadet to forget to post the lyrics. XD

WoW!

Bad at percussion? what are you on about! That was Amazing, ALL of it was amazing - I'm sorry I couldn't punp up ur score more I mean esriously it deserves at least a 4!

That was simply amazing my friend, the only point of advise I have is that some of those sounds are just way too overused as I have found on newgrounds.. but really I don't have too much advise too give you on this one, it seems as good as it gets to me, and to me this is just a AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL piece

PS: Never, ever say negative things about your work in comments - thats probably why you have low marks, people probably voted without even getting a bit into the song, always be positive about your work no matter what, it's yours and you like it, so who cares what those really negative people think ^^

(But do take constructive criticism seriously, :P)

Shichinohoshi responds:

I love criticism. It tells me where I need to go. It's basically built off of a simple riff.

Awesome (=

Just amazing man, I can see all the effort put into this and it is just one of the most amazing ambient songs I have ever heard, I am astounded, giving my first 5/5 and 10/10 to this man.

I'm lost for words, theres nothing I can say to you the will help you improve - I can't find any flaws at all, though I'm sure there will be one or two that have averted my not-so-expert gaze

Once again, just incredible man you are Very, very talented and I hope to see some more of your amazing work (=

tijnn responds:

Haha wew thanks man, that really means a lot to me =3

And believe me, there áre a few flaws, but i solved them with melody chopping etc, i actually played a few chords half a second and that kind of stuff, missing the timing on pressing record or whatsoever, but with choppin' and slicing' them stuff it is pretty much solved right away.

Thanks again for the loving review!

ps: About the effort remark... 5 hours ís very long for me to make a song. n_n

Its pretty cool

However the building up of this song gets REALLY REALLY bland, boring and old extremly quickly. And it never really changes, you already know whats going to happen when it happens.

I say, make it less predictible, give it some transitions into a proper new beat (eg, verse to chorus), speed up the building up process please it get's really bland at the beginning

-You do have talent & promise so please take into account what im saying and keep it in mind when you are making your next song (=

-I love the sounds (=

-Happy music making!

oh yeah i know what you mean man. but im only using ng as a file uploading client. this song is nowhere near finished and im not suprised that it got a shit score but atm i honeslty dont care lol this song took me 2 days im gonna spend months on it. thanks for your info though apreciate it.

peace your dj stix

Interesting

Those transitions were pretty crazy man, still sounded pretty mint though!

-I think you should start a BIT softer, mabye add a automation clip or something there to easy the massive BANG of sound which doesnt exactly fit with the kick drum at the start.

-The sounds are pretty random and dont sound quite right together and the transition at 1:11-1:14 is just completly random like wth? but after that that's probably the best part in the song sounds mint !

-So yeah there you have it

3/5, 7/10

scartheatre responds:

Yeah, I made this song about two years ago and I've been thinking about remixing it and making it longer so that the transitions seem a little more thought-out. And the sounds probably seem pretty random because this was made using the instruments from the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). I was thinking about putting it up as a "Video Game" song, but it does really well at dance parties :P

Pretty cool

Pretty damn sweet bro!

Some Points:

-The Transition around 40-45 seconds was really like *wince*
-It gets really repetitive
-The sounds are just pure pimp.
-I love the very faded sounds in the background (I hope im not imagining things)
-The drums get a bit dry, sounds good to start with but the ones in the middle get dry, really, really fast.
-Thats some funky stuff
-You really should chop or slice up the standard line a bit to get really breakbeat and awesome, it gets really bland after awhile even with all the different synths.

So thats what missed you out on your two marks (= and thats also why u got 8! i grant you a 3/5 as well keep up the good work bro!

FuNDaMeLoN responds:

Wow, this is the first review I've gotten in, like, five years, so thanks. :D
Yeah, I was gonna go for the drums having more of an "oomph" effect, but I guess I got carried away...
It's okay. It happens.
Transition:
I tried to even it out with the rolling snare at the beginning so I wouldn't have to call it "Heart attack meets DnB Listener." It's one of those things you have to keep doing to master it - my other songs are all like chill at first, and then BOOM!
Repetitiveness:
I was going for a form that was more like trance, which gets repetitive at times. But maybe, again, I went too far and made it a pain in the butt.
Sounds:
Thanks! I tried out a new trance synth, SuperWave. I guess it sounds like pure badass when it's combined with DnB.
Dry (?!) Drums:
Aw. Man.
Gonna fix that part.
Jeez, I messed up the filter and it sounds like it's coming from a broken car radio from the '50s. Not to worry! I'll fix it up later.
And:
Gonna be two or three sequels to this song, maybe a mini-series, i dunno?
Your comments are helping a TON. As I said, no one reviews so I don't know why my songs suck sometimes.
Thanks a third time!

Random but cool =D

Not really my style of music, but hey it was chillaxed and I found it pretty funkey, though those vocals did get a bit on my nerves, I really don't know what to say, its pretty repetitive and a bit bland but I really don't know how you can changes those two aspects successfully, sorry, thats why you missed out on those last two stars (=

Sirhc7000 responds:

k, thx.

The BASS!

That Bass is just TOTAL kickass

but as said below me the drums are a bit dry after awhile and it also gets a bit repetative, but I guess all songs are repetitve, these two combined ropped you of your last star (=

PS: Thanks again for the recent help on my topic in the audio forum (=

Fuiste responds:

No problem, I'm always glad to help, and thanks for taking the time to review my song.

Peace.

Cooool :P

WoW That was awesome! What Program do you use to make your music? ( Those synth effects the start were just PERFECT )

You missed out on 1 mark because those pianos did just not sound right to me with the synths, mabye if you could tone them down a bit (volume wise) or give them a slight flanger effect to mix in more with the synths (They stuck out especially at the start)

tobycreed responds:

Thanks for the review.

Regarding the piano though. Maybe it's because it was originally much worse than it is now, but I did indeed soften it a bit with some flangus to a point where I thought it contrasted nicely with the synths. Thats probably jsut personal taste though.

And this is FL Studio 6

Wow

WoW when you turn it up thats a funny sensation, love it man dont got any pointers I can give you, though there are probably some that have averted my gaze!

Gonna still have to give you a 10 (=

A-New-Decade responds:

Thanks dude.
